Corporate Sign Systems' long history began in 1959 on The Alameda in Santa Clara when the Silicon Valley was mostly orchards.

With his natural talent in oil and water color painting, Ed Moran started out by painting Christmas scenes for local grocery stores. It wasn't before long that he opened up his first shop and his company was designing, engineering and producing large building signs, monument signs and displays for high profile corporations like IBM, Hewlett Packard and Fairchild Semiconductor.

As one of the first commercial sign shops in the Silicon Valley, Ed Moran became well known for his quality, workmanship and timely service. He developed strong relationships with leading commercial real estate developers of the time including the likes of Trammel Crow Company, Spieker Properties (now Equity Office Properties) and Lincoln Property (now Legacy Partners).

Ned Spieker of Spieker Properties, instructed his people not to spend time seeking competitive bids, but to solely use Ed Moran and Alameda Sign Company because of his consistent quality and timely service and most important to Ned Spieker, Ed's honesty and integrity.

After 34 years of successfully serving the Silicon Valley business community, Ed Moran retired in 1993 and has since taken up his love for golf full time. As he excelled in business, he excels in golf. Since his retirement he has made 3 of 4 career hole in ones', and even though now in his 70's, his handicap remains at a healthy 3.

Today, Corporate Sign Systems is recognized as one of the leading "design build" and "build to spec" signage firms in Northern California. Ed's successor, Danny Moran, carries on the tradition of values that his father founded the company on. With Danny at the helm and a concentration in corporate architectural signage design and fabrication, Corporate Sign Systems has executed some of the most high profile corporate signage projects in the Silicon Valley, nationally and internationally.
